Fear not my lovelies as up here is where they all seem to be! Jasper Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, spanning 10,878 km². It is located in the province of Alberta, north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. The park includes the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains. Lake Minnewanka Before leaving Banff, we headed to Lake Minnewanka for our first taste of the real Rockies!  Lake Minnewanka is a large glacial lake 5 kilometres (3 miles) from the town of Banff. The lake is 21 kilometres (13 miles) long and 142 metres (466 feet) deep. It is a beautiful spot, popular for picnicking, mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, diving, and snowshoeing.                                                                              Lake Minnewanka panoramic view! Driving from Banff to Lake Louise was pretty easy and straight forward.  Approximately a 45 min...

So came the point of the scary birthday, I knew that I wanted to do something amazing for it and being the canny Travel Agent that I am, I had a few ideas lined up.  One however kept coming back to me over and over and I knew this was the trip for me ... Moraine Lake, Banff National Park ... our Canadian Rockies Road Trip! As our flight arrived late into Calgary, we opted to stay one night at the airport so we didn't really see Calgary itself, but I have heard that it is lovely!   Calgary We stayed one night at the Sandman Hotel Calgary Airport.  A transfer was available to pick us up and take us to the hotel and ...

Kos

Kardamena, Kos My first holiday abroad was when I was 15 years old, where we visited a little town called Kardamena based in the beautiful Greek Islands. Kos, one of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is known for its abundant sandy beaches. It’s also rich with Greek and Roman landmarks, particularly in and around Kos Town. This harbour town is dominated by the 15th-century Neratzia Castle. South of the castle are the Ancient Agora ruins, with a temple, shrine and columns. The 3rd-century Casa Romana villa has lavish mosaics. There are many activities to do here.  From Kos Town you can get a ferry across to Turkey for the day, arriving into Bodrum. This is worth a visit, especially if you love markets and bartering for items. All round a good location, short 3.5 hour flight from the UK and a respectable destination to take families with small children.  Paradise Beach Paradise is one of the most popular beaches in Kos, located 30 km fro...

So many know me as the person who is always on holiday.  If I am not on holiday, I am talking about holidays, well true, but I should be as I am a travel agent!  My job means that I talk about holidays ALL of the time! When introduced to new people I get asked what I do for a job. Ha, now there will almost always be two questions that I will get; Do you get really cheap holidays?  Do you get to travel to some amazing places?  So lets get it out there, no I don't get cheap holidays, but I do know where to look for the best deals. Secondly, yes I am very privileged to have travelled to some amazing places, both with work and for my own personal travel. This is where we start.  I am going to let you explore the World with me.  No, I'm not paying for you to go on holiday, but I will show you some of the amazing places I have been and hopefully give some helpful hints and tips along the way. As time has moved...
